Under It

Dress by PB Tees // Bra by Cosabella // Necklace by Stella & Dot // Wrap Bracelet by Natalie B // Boots by Jeffrey Campbell (taupe)

I’ve always been one to appreciate what my bra has going on from the side. Whether it’s an oversized tank for a boxing session or a ripped up band tee for work, in my closet a bra is as much of the outfit as my favorite leather jacket. When I landed on this t-shirt dress by PB Tees, the standards of the side detail raised a few notches because, clearly, that’s a lot of rib showing. So, I naturally went to the tried-and-true Cosabella section of my underpinning drawer to complete the look. The main thing to avoid when working a bra into your look is anything that resembles the classic brassiere; pass on simple underwire designs and instead go for texture (usually lace or mesh) and straps; any peek-a-boo should look intentional. For this orange dress, I chose a dark color but because I often wear an all-black ensemble, I have quite the collection of bright styles as well...all with matching bottoms, which I always choose to keep covered.
