Thrift Store Fringe

I am going to go ahead and put this out there, hand-me-down shopping is not my thing. I don’t like the way thrift stores smell and no matter how many times I walk into Wasteland (I do love Wasteland) I always walk out with something from the “New Arrivals” rack rather than the tutu in the corner that probably would have been a colorful addition to my closet had I just been bothered enough to try it on. With that being said, every once in a while I walk into a well-merchandised second-hand shop with focus and something special catches my eye…enter this suede fringe jacket that I snagged for $50 on a trip to Sacramento last fall. Boom.

I am a sucker for all things fringe-shoes, handbags, t-shirts, anything. Maybe it’s my Southern roots and Louis L’Amour-lovin’ father that started it but it won’t go away. While the jacket might look like it belongs with cowboy boots and bootcut jeans (two things that will forever be missing from my wardrobe), I recently wore it with this long Alexis dress I found at Intermix to dress down the maxi look. I did keep a bit in theme by opting for my favorite Topshop booties (which single-handedly got me through NYFW) instead of a strappy heel. Yee-haw y’all!
