2014 Met Gala Steeze

Oh the Met Gala, or as I heard it referred to all day yesterday: “The Superbowl of Fashion,” where stars from every corner of the entertainment world come together and check their style inhibitions at the door. This year the attendees gathered to celebrate couturier Charles James and bare a lot of skin. From Rihanna in that white hot ab-baring Stella McCartney number to Kate Upton in…whatever that was, to my favorite couple staring deep into each other’s eyes while rockin’ Gucci duds. Every. One. Was. There. Here are my favorites of the evening:

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds both in Gucci- These two are perfection. Seriously, they don’t get enough attention. Love his simple tux approach to let his gal shine in her curve hugging sequin gown. Could be my favorite couple of the night.

Rihanna in Stella McCartney- Ri shut-it-down in this long sleeve crop top that, in the right angle, showed off her famous under-boob tats. Love the strong shoulders and high neckline embellishments. #BestDressed

Beyonce_JayZ_MetGala

Beyonce and Jay Z both in Givenchy Couture- Twitter went nuts when these two hit the carpet and they did not fail to impress (le duh). I love Queen Bey’s slouchy silhouette and am actually into her headpiece-if you’re going to do something weird, the Met Gala is the place to do it.

CaraDelevigne_MetGala

Cara Delevigne in Stella McCartney- A little casual for the event but I love a good black & white ensemble and she is always one to take the tomboy approach which I always find way fun. Golf clap.

A$AP Rocky in Topman with Chanel Iman in Topshop- This blew my mind. Mostly because I somehow missed the memo that these two were dating and am now obsessed with the information. This photo is everything. Hip-hop and fashion, my two favorite things, together…in Topman/Topshop, I want to frame it and hang it above my desk. I just don’t know if it gets any better. I love Chanel's dress and the Fashion Killa looks so hot that I’m a little confused. And are those grillz? It just keeps getting better and better.

GiseleBundchen_MetGala

Gisele Bündchen in Balenciaga- If you’ve got it flaunt it and Gisele did in this simple, low-cut silhouette. While the green earring with a black dress is a little overplayed, I don’t think I’ve ever seen her look so happy on a carpet. She wins.

Lily Aldridge in Michael Kors- Last year I interviewed Lily (yes we are on a first name basis now) and have had a girl crush ever since. She has an effortless look and she is married to the lead singer of Kings of Leon…like, why don’t we talk about this more? I loved the model in this uber long, metallic gown with a sweetheart neckline-that certainly wouldn’t look good on everyone (strapless brings out the underarm fat), and it is so clearly a Kors design. Where is my “thumbs up” emoji when I need it?

EmmaStone_AndrewGarfield_MetGala

Emma Stone in Thakoon with Andrew Garfield- Two things. 1) They both look AMAZING. The color combo on his tuxedo is trés chic and everything from her shades of pink to the crop top and draping at the waist makes her one of my favorites of the entire night. 2) Their stylists should have talked because they are completely clashing.

KristenStewart_MetGala

Kristen Stewart in Chanel- I can’t believe I’m saying this and I’m sure people are disagreeing all over the internet right now. I love this and I never like feathers. There is a lot happening here and none of it is basic. This is a really rad look.

Suki Waterhouse in Burberry- When I think of the Met Gala…this is what I picture in my head.

Speaking of Suki, can we all talk about the elephant in the room? Did Bradley Cooper put on weight because what was happening there? Maybe it’s for a role or maybe it’s Summertime Sadness… anywho. Check out the gallery below for more of last night’s red carpet looks. Who was your favorite?
